$10,000 Surf Contest Purse, Pismo Beach, California Central Coast Annual Event

 Still Frothy Surfing Festival -  Sponsored by Suburu and Billabong,  Event Took Place Sept. 26, 27, 2015. 

Billabong's Still Frothy Advises "Go Surfing - and once surfing never stop!"

 Pros and Amateurs, 200 Contestants, Free Surf Competition for Ages 17 and Under

Pro - Am Results for the Contest


The Still Frothy Surf Contest presented by Billabong and Suburu  USA Pro-Am  Final Results were: 1st place $2,500 Kilgar Kilian Garland, 2nd place $1,250 Cory Arrambide, 3rd place $500 Dane Anderson , 4th place $250 Jonny Craft and 5th place $125 Noah Wegrich. 



Billabong and Suburu provided the contestants with free contest t-shirts, goodies, drinks and lunch.  Kids who were finalists got special products from the sponsors.  Awards and special prizes were also given for one youth's community involvement plus surfing skills. 


Another special award was the "all round good kid" who won a Channel Island  surfboard that had been ridden by one of their professionals. 


A special event called the "Tow at Air" challenge featured some of the top surfers in California and the United States, according to the Billabong website.  

The Tow at Air division had a minimum of prizes worth $2,500 with $1,000 each for the members of the winning team, contributed by Bonzai Bowls and Cool Cats.  

In the Tow at Air the surfer is pulled by water craft at high speeds directly at the waves and with the extra speed the surfer can perform more acrobatics in the air while surfing.  

The Esteem Surf Shop presented a $500 "Still Frothiest Human Award"  to the most committed competitor.  

Toyota Honda of Santa Maria also provided $500 for the winner of the juniors division.  The Pro-Am winner got $1500 provided by Radiology Associates. College scholarships and surf scholarships were also included in the awards from the Still Frothy 501-c nonprofit.  

"Smith and Sons," a local business, presented the Oceano Junior Guards with $500. 


The winners of each of the kids divisions and of the Pro-Am were also awarded a complete skateboard from Section 9.

There was also a non-profit fund raiser concert and a raffle in downtown Pismo Beach on Friday night with additional festivities and raffles on Saturday night. 


The entire event was live on the internet by way of a webcam feed at offshoretheater.com. 



The event was held next to the Pismo Beach Pier. 

Spectators on the Pismo Pier had a bird's eye view of the surfing. 

Relaxing on the beach also provided a good view of the festivities.

1,370 Foot Pismo Beach Pier - Take a Stroll With Us 


Rest on a bench on the pier and enjoy the view to the south.  This vista looks out toward Grover Beach and Oceano in the distance. 

Watching the waves roll in and the surfers go by from the pier. 

Pier walking can include a stop a the kiosk to get beach snacks and supplies. 

Spend some time watching the ongoing beach activities from a bench on the pier.  You can bring a snack and make it a beach picnic. 

Breathtaking views to the north from the pier look toward Shell Beach and Avila Beach in the distance. 

More benches and picnic tables for leisurely time on the Pismo Beach Pier.

Watching the sun go down from the Pismo Pier is a local tradition.
