Surfing Next to the Pier at Pismo Beach, California

Riding those sweet waves as the sun sets.

Ocean mists waft over the cliffs of Shell Beach to the north.  In the distance are the foothills of Avila Beach .

Paddling out for the next wave might be work but the ride back is worth it.

Beachcombers stroll the tidepools and children play on the beach. Photo taken from the Pismo Pier.

Testing the waters, perhaps for some body surfing. Locals and visitors stroll on the Pismo Pier at the left.

To the south you will find 20 miles of Pismo State Beach, with the Pismo and Oceano Dunes reaching far inland.

Surfing spectators line the Pismo Beach Pier, while another wave hits the pier pilings.

A surfer wearing a wetsuit balances upright on his surfboard as the whitewater crashes.
